Man bitten by snake while taking pictures, dies

Nellore: A 24-year-old man died after being bitten by a snake while trying to take a picture in Sulllurpet. The incident took place in Mangalampadu Street in the town on Monday evening which came to light on Tuesday.

According to sources, Ch Jagadish, of Mangalampadu, was preparing for competitive exams. A snake charmer who moving in the locality while playing an instrument claimed that he had a very good antidote to any snakebite.

Jagadish too went to watch the snake show by the charmer, who was selling herbal medicine promising cure for snakebite. During the show, the charmer handed over the snake to Jagadish.

The youth placed it on his shoulder and wrapped it around his neck as a garland for the sake of taking picture. While his friends were clicking pictures, the snake had bitten on the hand of Jagadish.

In a few minutes Jagadish fainted and was shifted to a local hospital where anti-venom dose was not available. He was later shifted to a private hospital in Sri City where doctors declared him brought dead. A pall of gloom descended on the town with freak death Jagadish who was said to be very jovial. Soon after the incident, snake charmer fled from the area.
