Visakhapatnam: Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) P K Rath has been bestowed with 'Steelies India-2018 Award' for his operational and leadership excellence in the company.
The prestigious award was presented to Rath by Rajib Banerjee, Minister of Backward Classes Welfare, Government of West Bengal on Monday during the national conference on ‘Integrated and Secondary Steel Sector-Growth and Survival Strategies’ held in Kolkata.
While participating in the panel discussion, Rath observed that factors like technology, raw material securitisation, and energy conservation would play a vital role in steel making process in the country.
The steel consumption is bound to grow taking the advantage of Government of India policies including Sagarmala Project, boost to infrastructure and construction, urban housing projects. The RINL is focussing on bringing down reliance on special steel imports, Rath said. On the occasion, Rath was felicitated for his outstanding contribution to Indian steel industry.
