Bezwada Bar slams resolution of Hyderabad High Court advocates
The Bezwada Bar Association took strong objection to the decision taken by the Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association located at Hyderabad to request the Government of India to issue notification for a separate High Court for Andhra Pradesh at Amaravati only after the High Court is fully established as per the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act of 2014
Vijayawada: The Bezwada Bar Association took strong objection to the decision taken by the Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates’ Association located at Hyderabad to request the Government of India to issue notification for a separate High Court for Andhra Pradesh at Amaravati only after the High Court is fully established as per the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act of 2014.
The Bezwada Bar Association on Thursday planned to boycott duties on Friday protesting against the decision of the Hyderabad-based AP High Court Advocates Association. Addressing the media at the Bar Association office here on Thursday, Bar Association president K Satyanarayana and secretary D Lakshmana Rao said the lawyers in Andhra Pradesh had been demanding for a long time for shifting of Andhra Pradesh High Court from Hyderabad to Vijayawada.
They said the advocates of AP were happy as the AP High Court will be shifted from Hyderabad after bifurcation of the state. They said the people of Andhra Pradesh were eagerly waiting for the inauguration of High Court at Amaravati.
They condemned the resolution passed by the Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association to ask the Union government to issue notification for a separate High Court at Amaravati after providing basic amenities to advocates and paralegal staff.
Satyanarayana and Lakshmana Rao recalled that the High Court judges have recently visited Amaravati and expressed satisfaction over the progress of AP High Court building construction works.
They said the Bezwada Bar Association has decided to boycott the courts on Friday protesting against the interference of lawyers belong to Hyderabad High Court.
Senior advocates of the capital region of Vijayawada and Guntur districts are also planning to meet in Vijayawada on Friday to discuss the future course of action. It may be recalled that the advocates of Vijayawada staged protests for many months five years ago demanding the erstwhile AP Government to set up High Court bench in Vijayawada.
