Guntur: Acharya Nagarjuna University will get Rs 50 crore grants from National Higher Education Mission, New Delhi under the Ministry of Human Resources and Development to set up a Centre for Advanced Research and Applied Technology (CARAT) in the varsity.

The varsity authorities have already submitted proposals to the NHEM for releasing of the funds. ANU Director for International Studies Cell and RUSA Coordinator Prof G V Anjaneyulu will give power point presentation to the National Higher Education Mission in New Delhi. Based on that they will sanction funds.

According sources in ANU, the NHEM has already agreed to release funds for ANU. After giving power point presentation, it will make an official announcement to release Rs 50 crore within two years. The varsity authorities have submitted research proposals to the NHEM for the next 15 years, which will review performance for every five years.

The university will set up Centre for Advanced Research and Applied Technology in which any research scholar can do research on science and technology, social sciences, management sciences, social, child labour, Swacch Bharat and on other subjects. The Centre for Advanced Research and Applied Technology will provide necessary facilities to the researches.
