Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Mahila Commission chairperson Nannapaneni Raja Kumari has said that Censor Board was not imposing restrictions on television serials and media which are portraying women indecently.

She was speaking at international conference on domestic violence, organised by the Women Empowerment Cell of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala here on Thursday.

Rajakumari said that attacks and atrocities on all age groups of women were on the raise both in urban and rural areas. To protect women from these attacks, the Women Commission was established.

She said that education was a boon to the women and everyone should have self-control and should not deviate towards vices. She opined that change should come from women.

Founder and president of Asha Kiran K Bhavani, AP Mahila Commission director R Suez, Academy secretary P Lakshman Rao, the college director Dr T Vijayalakshmi, principal M Nalini, S Kalpana, K Sudha Rani, A Nagajyothi, faculty and others were present.
