Vijayawada: Hundreds of victims who were deceived by Vaka Vasudeva Rao MD, VVR Housing private limited, who have purchased plots, staged a day-long protest demonstration demanding justice from the government at dharna chowk here on Friday. The victims raised slogans ‘Down Down VVR’ and demanded justice from the government.
Speaking to the media persons, CPI state leader M Nageswara Rao alleged that BJP leader and Kodangal constituency convener Vaka Vasudeva Rao had cheated more than 10,000 families in the two Telugu-speaking states by establishing 35 VVR Housing offices in Telngana and AP.
He said VVR Housing sold plots from the ventures laid at various places and multiple registrations were done deceiving thousands of middle class, below middle class families on the pretext of selling plots at a lesser price.
Most of the buyers were clerks, attenders, drivers, retired employees and other families, he said.
Nageswara Rao alleged that with the support from officials, politicians, registration officers and other staff, Vasudeva Rao could do multiple registrations and taking loans by pledging the documents of the land which were already registered to the customers.
He further alleged that Vasudeva Rao had laid venture for 30 plots and sold the same to about 300 customers and later pledging these documents took loans.
He demanded the government to arrest Vasudeva Rao and take stern action against him and all the officials and department people who supported and showed favor in cheating thousands of poor people.
He said that Vasudeva Rao should be arrested though he is hiding anywhere across the world and do justice to the poor victims.
Suresh Kumar, a victim speaking to The Hans India said that he purchased a plot in Eluru Residency venture laid by VVR Housing under Duggirala Panchayat limits.
After the registration was completed and went to the site the whole venture was ploughed and agriculture activity was undertaken. Then only they came to know they were cheated.
