Rajamahendravaram: Andhra Pradesh Weavers United Front (APWUF) general secretary T Srinivas Viswanadh said that the political parties are using weavers community as vote bank and giving many promises at the time of elections and later setting them aside.

Speaking to reporters at the Press Club here on Sunday, he said the APWUF will support the political parties which gives them as many as 10 MLAs and 5 MP seats in the forthcoming Assembly and general elections.

He also demanded the State government to create a corporation for the welfare of weavers with a corpus fund of Rs 2,000 crore. Moreover, he also asked the government to construct houses for weavers in 10 acres at Amaravati and in five acres at all district headquarters.

They asked the government to give exemption from GST to weavers and if that was not possible they demanded the government to bear it.APCO director M Virraju and others were present.
