YatraGenie bus overturns at Surareddy Palem, eight severely injured

Singarayakonda: A private travels bus on its way from Bengaluru to Visakhapatnam hit a road divider at the Bharat Petrol Bunk near Surareddy Palem in Tangutur mandal in Prakasam district on early morning of the Friday.
According to the Tangutur SI P Hazarathaiah and Singarayakonda SI Naga Malleswara Rao, a bus with registered number PY05A6069, belongs to the Komitla Travels, but operated by the YatraGenie Travels, started with 36 passengers from Bengaluru at around 05.00PM on Thursday. It would have reached Visakhapatnam around 12.00PM on Friday.
The peacefully sleeping passengers were awake with a jolt as the bus hit the divider and overturned onto the road in the early hours of the Friday. The Singarayakonda and Tangutur police reached the spot immediately and shifted the eight severely injured passengers to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences and Ramesh Sanghamitra Hospitals in Ongole. Few passengers, who received minor injuries are offered first aid and offered seats in alternate buses to reach their destinations.
The police arranged for the safe recovery of valuables and baggage of the passengers from the bus, and handed over them to their respective owners in the hospitals. The passengers thanked the police department for its timely and humanitarian response and appreciated the Tangutur and Singarayakonda SIs and their teams.
The police officers booked a case and are primarily suspecting that the driver went into sleep while driving the vehicle. They removed the bus to the road side and started investigating the accident case.
