Krishnagiri police arrested an interstate property offenders gang consisting of six members at Erukali Cheruvu Cross in Krishnagiri mandal on Monday

Kurnool: Krishnagiri police arrested an interstate property offenders’ gang consisting of six members at Erukali Cheruvu Cross in Krishnagiri mandal on Monday. Besides arresting six members, the police also seized 60 mobile phones, 22 motor bikes and 17 weapons all worth Rs.10 lakh from them. All the six members were presented before media in the presence of Dhone DSP Khader Basha.

The DSP said that six members Neeli Shikari Raju, Neeli Shikari Raju, Neeli Shikari Lovely, Neeli Shikari Gemini alias Naidu, Bhosley Lassi alias Pandu and Neeli Shikari Rayireddy formed a gang and committed several crimes.

The six-member gang used to threaten the lorry drivers at toll plazas and rob money, mobiles and other valuables. The gang members had involved in 23 property offence in Nalgonda in Telangana and in Kurnool in AP.

Two murder cases are also pending against them in Kurnool and West Godavari districts. One non-bailable warrant is also pending in robbery case at Krishnagiri Police Station. All the gang members are relatives and carry out the operations under the leadership of Neeli Shikari Raju.

The police formed special teams to apprehend the interstate gang. On tip off the Krishnagiri Sub Inspector Vijaya Bhaskar with his team apprehended the gang at Erukali Cheruvu cross in Krishnagiri mandal. On enquiry the members have confessed of committing the crimes.

A case has been filed against them and they would be produced in the court for initiating further action, added the officer. Dhone Rural Circle Inspector, Raja Gopal Naidu, Narendra Kumar Reddy and others participated at the media conference.
