Visakhapatnam: As part of Corporate Social Responsibility activities, HPCL-Visakh Refinery has donated 16,000 class 10 model-paper books for the tribal students of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram of agency areas, GVMC high schools in Visakhapatnam and SC students studying in the district, through HPCL Visakh Refinery SC/ST Employees Welfare Association.

Collector Praveen Kumar along with Executive Director, HPCL-VR A S V Ramanan released the books ‘AIM@SSC 2K19,’ sponsored by HPCL-VR here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector stressed the need to extend the help particularly in education sector in the remote areas and appreciated the management of HPCL -Visakh Refinery for its continuous support to tribal students particularly for the students appearing Class X public examinations in 2019.

HPCL-Visakh Refinery for the past several years has been sponsoring class 10 material through an NGO help@11th for the class 10th students studying in the ITDA areas of north coastal districts and GVMC high schools of Visakhapatnam, other government high schools and social welfare hostels in the district as proposed by HPCL-VR SC/ST Employees Welfare Association.

On the occasion, ED, HPCL-VR A S V Ramanan has explained to the collector that this year the association covered all the tribal students of north coastal districts. “HPCL is always in the forefront to promote the education particularly in the rural and remote areas,” the Executive Director informed to the Collector. General Manager (HR), HPCL-VR Narisetty Raja Rao and Chief Manager (PR) U S Sarma were present.
