Guntur : Minister for Civil Supplies Prattipati Pulla Rao said that the government led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has spent Rs 4500 crore for the welfare of Kapus during the last four- years .Prathipati Pulla Rao, along with Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Anand Babu laid the foundation stone for the construction of Kapu Bhavan at Adavitakkellapadu at a cost of Rs.2-crore in Guntur city on Thursday.

Speaking on this occasion, Pulla Rao said that the government is extending a financial assistance up to Rs.10-lakh to Kapu students going abroad for higher education and reminded that the Chief Minister has set up Corporation for Kapus to extend helping hand to the Kapus to create self employment besides sanctioning scholarships and free coaching to the various competitive examinations.

He urged the Kapus to avail the benefits of welfare schemes. Minister for Social Welfare Nakka Anand Babu said that the government was committed for the welfare of Kapus and the government set up Corporation for Kapus to extend financial assistance besides implementing welfare schemes.

MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy, former minister Dr.Sanakkayala Aruna and TDP Guntur urban district president Chandu Sambsiva Rao were among those participated.

Meanwhile, Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Kapu Corporation chairman Kothapalli Subbarayudu laid the foundation for the construction of Kapu Bhavan in Narasaraopet on Thursday.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr.Kodela Siva Prasada Rao criticised that earlier government ignored the Kapus and added that the government will construct 350 Kalyana Mandapams for Kapus. He predicted that anti-BJP government will come to power at Centre and the new government at the Centre will pass Kapus reservation Bill.

Kapu Corporation chairman Kothapalli Subba Rayudu said that Kapus benefited in the TDP government and sanctioning Rs. 1000 crore per year to Kapus and added that it is responsibility of Kapus to support TDP.
