Vijayawada: Death a Class VIII student in a private school sparked protests from the parents and student organisations in Kanchikacharla on Tuesday. District collector B Lakshmikantham ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident as well as registering a case against the school management and principal B Prasad Babu.
According to Kanchkacharla police, a student Seelam Nagarjuna Saibaba Reddy,14, died after falling from the Sri Chaitanya school building while watching 5K run organised by an NGO in the town.
The school management shifted the boy to the government hospital in Kanchikacherla after he fell from the building parapet. The parents have alleged the school management did not inform them till afternoon though it happened at about 10 am.
The parents came to knew about the death of their son when the doctors prepared for the post-mortem. Saibaba Reddy slipped from the parapet wall falling on the ground, said police citing preliminary investigation.
