Nellore: The Central Crime Station (CCS) cops taken two bike lifters into custody and recovered Rs 12 lakh worth 41 motorcycles from them. The accused were identified as M Ramesh and P Sudhakar of Vutukur villages.

According to District Superintendent of Police (SP) Aishwarya Rastogi, Ramesh, who belongs to Vutukuru village of Vidavaluru mandal, had worked as helper in Krishnapatnam Port. Sudhakar, who hails from the same village, is friend of Ramesh. ‘They used to steal motorcycles using their own technique to unlock the bikes. Both were having separate keys to unlock the motorcycles which were parked in vacant places.

Sudhakar maintained friendship with Ramesh when he was working as helper in Krishnapatnam Port, the SP said. The SP stated duo addicted to bad habits and committed offences for easy money to lead luxurious life.

He explained that duo had stolen 22 motorcycles under the limits of the Krishnapatnam Police Station limits, 11 from Muthukur Police Station, 3 under Nellore Rural Police Station limits, 1 each from Nawabpeta and Santhapeta Police Station limits and 3 under the limits of the Balaji Nagar Police Station.

Aishwarya Rastogi mentioned that the CCS police along with local cops kept an eye on activities of the accused and finally nabbed them on Tuesday at Pantapalem-Krishnapatnam bypass road in Muthukur.

The SP appreciated efforts of the CCS team and announced rewards to the personnel. CCS DSP M Balasundar Rao, Circle Inspector Sk Bobbyjan Saida and others were present.
