Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited launches Piped Natural Gas supply to households
On auspicious day of Bhogi, Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited MEIL inaugurated doortodoor Piped Natural Gas PNG supply in Dokiparru village in the district
Dokiparru (Krishna district): On auspicious day of Bhogi, Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) inaugurated door-to-door Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supply in Dokiparru village in the district.
Last year on the same day, the MEIL inaugurated the potable water to every home in the village. With this uninterrupted PNG supply, every housewife in the village will be free from LPG supply problems, said MEIL chairman PP Reddy and managing director P V Krishna Reddy.
The satellite PNG station was commenced by Rama Reddy, wife of PP Reddy and Sudha Reddy, wife of PV Krishna Reddy. PP Reddy switched on the main regulator and distributed the cooking gas. The villagers were delighted to have the PNG and showed the gratitude by receiving them on the conventional way with beating of drums.
Speaking on the occasion, PP Reddy said that it has become a tradition to MEIL that every a new project is initiated in their native village. This is the first time in south India that PNG is supplied in satellite method.
P V Krishna Reddy expressed happiness over the new technologies and innovations the company introduced in their village for the first time. He requested the villagers to utilise the welfare schemes and works by MEIL.
PP Reddy and P V Krishna Reddy said LPG had given comfort to the homemakers. But, non-availability of LPG on time and gas leakages have become a new headaches to the women, he said. They said this new PNG ensures uninterrupted supply 24x7 all through the year, in safe method and costing 40 per cent less than LPG.
The cooking gas is supplied to every home with 20 km pipeline. There are 250 registrations for PNG supply and 125 connections were already given. The connections to the remaining village will be given very soon, they said.
MEIL already launched door-to-door potable water supply, constructed a bridge, PP Reddy said. Village elders Rami Reddy and Shiva Babu thanked PP Reddy and P V Krishna Reddy. PV Subba Reddy, CEO, MEIL also took part in the programme.
