Pithapuram: Villages in the mandal wore urban and festival look with the arrival of native people from distant cities towns due to three-day festival of harvest. As most of the buses and trains were witnessing heavy rush main roads in the mandal are facing heavy traffic jam. The people are eagerly utilising the available mode of transport to reach their villages before the ‘Bhogi mantalu’.

Apart from Hyderabad, Visakhaptnam in Telugu states, people from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Odisha are in a hurry to visiting their villages to celebrate the Sankranthi with their dear and near ones. It seems to be welcoming them, Haridasu has been reaching every household and blessing them with popular verses and receiving gifts from them. Women of all age group busy in setting ‘Bommala Koluvu’ which depicts the culture and heritage of the Telugus
