Hyderabad: It's good news that this year, six airports in the two Telugu states will undergo into massive development changes.

In which RGIA at Shamshabad is one from Telangana, and from AP Vijayawada, Vizag, Rajamahendravaram, Tirupati, Kadapa airports are in the list.

If Telangana government takes some initiation than Warangal, Nizamabad, Kothagudem may also be included in the list.

Vijayawada Airport Director, GMS Rao said that in order to bring these projects of the track, AAI or state governments should come forward.

Surveys have been conducted to ascertain if they are feasible locations and the results have been positive.

GMS Rao, who is also a member of the Survey Committee said that there is a possibility for these airports to be developed under the Udan scheme.

RGIA Hyderabad:

Connects 66 different destinations, which includes 18 International locations, and 48 Domestic locations.

In 2018 (January to November) the passenger's footfall ratio crossed to 89 lakhs, which 21 percent higher when compared to 2017.

The air traffic was recorded as 1.6 lakhs during this period.

Saudi Arabia's aviation company FlyNas has started flight services from Hyderabad to Riyadh and SpiceJet has started Flight services to Bangkok from Hyderabad.

In the last 12 months, 10 new destinations are connected with RGIA, which includes Calicut, Amritsar, Vadodara, Port Blair, Udaipur, and Tirupati Airports.

Future:
Expansion underway to handle 40 million passengers annually.
Likely to launch facial recognition facility for passengers.
Nigh operation on the second runaway.

Visakhapatnam Airport:

Passengers traffic grew from 2.3 million (2016-17) to 2.5 million in (2017-18)

Air India, Alliance Air, IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air Asia, and Air Odisha have started Domestic operations from Vizag Airport.

Air India, Silk Air, Air Asia Berhad, and Thai Airways are flying to Dubai, Singapore, Kualalampur, and Bangkok.

Future:
Linear expansion o the existing integrated terminal building with total area of 9850 square meters.
Provision for additional 10 check-in-points, escalators, lifts and staircase.
Additional 100 cars parking facility.
