Ongole: With the efforts from its director Dr Shaik Mastan Saheb, the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Ongole is going to introduce super specialty services in association with the KIMS Ongole from Wednesday.
The representatives from both managements announced in a press meet on Monday that the experts from the KIMS offer two-hours of service in RIMS for free from Wednesday.
The RIMS director Sk Mastan Saheb said that the medical college was going to introduce PG courses from the next academic year.
As the students require exposure to the super specialty treatment and also RIMS hospital was receiving patients with needs of the same, he approached KIMS management for sharing their expertise in fields like urology, nephrology, neurology, cardiology, medical gastroenterology, neurosurgery and orthopedics.
He thanked the KIMS management for accepting his request and agreed to offer the OP service in hospital and also a class hour to the students.
The KIMS executive director, Giri Naidu said that their management was happy to join hands with the RIMS in serving the people.
He said that the super specialty doctors from KIMS would be available at RIMS on a schedule, and would diagnose the patients.
He announced if, there was a need to treat the patient with machinery unavailable at the RIMS, they may be shifted to KIMS for treatment under NTR Vaidyaseva scheme.
The KIMS management announced that Dr G Ramesh Babu will offer service in Urology while Dr MA Jagadeesh Babu will offer his service as neurosurgeon on Wednesday from 04.00 PM to 06.00 PM.
On Thursday gastroenterologist and hepatologist Dr M Manasa, nephrologist Dr T Venkata Ramana Reddy will offer service from 02.30 PM to 04.00 PM.
On Friday, neurologist and stroke specialist Dr M Sarat and cardiologist Dr O Harish will be available from 02.30 PM to 04.00 PM while Dr K Sreedhar Babu, cardiologist will be available from the 02.30 PM to 04.00 PM on Saturday.
The KIMS general manager, S Narasimha Murthy, the RIMS chief administrative officer Dr Kiran, KIMS marketing manager T Govardhan and other doctors also participated in the programme.
