Kurnool: A massive fire destroyed Banaganapalle tahsildar office reducing several important records to ash in the early hours of Wednesday. Banaganapalle tahsildar Shiva Rami Reddy said the fire broke at around 3 am in deputy tahsildar’s room. Some records pertaining to lands and the computers in which valuable information was stored were burnt completely in the accident .
The flames spread to all other rooms and engulfed the entire office. Watchman Veeranna, who noticed the fire immediately alerted the fire department personnel. The fire fighters rushed to the scene along with fire tenders and struggled for hours to control the blaze. By the time they could bring the situations under control, the entire office was reduced to ashes, said the tahsildar.
Police who took up the investigation, said according to preliminary investigation short circuit was the cause of the fire. “However, they have registered a case and took up investigation, said Shiva Rami Reddy. He also said that around six computers, printers and land records pertaining to the villagers have been destroyed in the fire mishap.
