Visakhapatnam: Two major players in the field of radiology and energy have evinced interest in setting up units at Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ).

At the World Economic Forum summit being held at Davos, Switzerland, representatives of Chronos Imaging and Energy Vault held discussions with Dr Jitendar Sharma, Managing Director and CEO, AMTZ, and Special Chief Secretary to Health Dr Poonam Malakondaiah in the presence of the IT Minister N Lokesh.

Chronos Imaging is a US-based company which focuses on development, manufacturing, and distribution of diagnostic imaging medical devices and solutions. Chronos Imaging has already set up an X-ray tube facility at AMTZ.

The facility has world-class equipment sourced from internationally leading firms. A team of highly qualified and experienced scientists, engineers and physicists are working meticulously on this national project. At the first instance, X-ray tube will be manufactured with its assembly for both general radiography and CT machines by 2020.

Further, the facility would aid to manufacture customised X-ray tube for the dedicated machines used in various science, engineering, paramedical and other industries including agro, metallurgy, space, electronics, nano-technology, veterinary science, pharmacology, and security.

Energy Vault, an Idea lab company, that develops renewable energy storage products, brings an experience of over 30 years in technology innovation and turning breakthrough ideas into practical and scalable solutions. Energy vault proposed to bring its expertise to set up renewable energy facility at AMTZ.
