Vijayawada: The chess grand master from Vijayawada, Musunoori Rohit Lalit Babu has secured 8th rank after the ‘Gibraltar International Chess Festival Master Tournament’. The tournament was held at Gibraltar from January 22 to 31.
As many as 252 chess players participated in the tournament and Lalith Babu started the tournament with 55th rank and after 10 rounds, he secured 7 points and clinched 8th rank.
He performed well in the tournament and secured 29.8 Fide rating points to his credit. At present Lalit has 2,586 Fide rating points.
Koneru Hampi started the tournament with 49th rank after securing 6 points and was placed at 49th rank.
Another grand master from AP Dronavalli Harika secured 91st rank after securing 5.5 points.
