DCC president Panabaka Krishnaiah said that they are going to accept applications from the aspirants to contest in constituencies fromFebruary 7th onwards

Nellore: DCC president Panabaka Krishnaiah said that they are going to accept applications from the aspirants to contest in constituencies from February 7th onwards.

Interacting with the media at Indira Bhavan in here on Thursday, Panabaka Krishnaiah said that the application fee for assembly constituency is Rs.2,000 and for parliamentary constituency is Rs.5,000.

He stated that the Pradesh Congress Committee screening committee would scrutinise the applications and would take final decision. Krishnaiah also said that the aspirants will be given a mandal to prove their strengths in public.

‘Aspirants have to conduct door-to-door campaign and to publicise the schemes being mentioned in manifesto. They have to enrol members under SHAKTI project at the mandal level.

Aspirants have to involve in Congress party activities,’ said the DCC chief. On the first day on Thursday, the Congress party has received 4 applications for Kavali constituency, 1 for Gudur, 1 for Sarvepalli, 2 for Venkatagiri and 1 for Kovur constituency from the aspirants, he said.

The applications received by the DCC would in turn be forwarded to the PCC. He explained about the party manifesto and said that Congress has introduced several welfare schemes for the poor during its regime. Congress senior leader CV Sesha Reddy, Chevuri Deva Kumar Reddy, U Venkat Rao, Raghuram and others were present.
