Guntur: Several leftist parties including CPI, CPM, MCPI (U), CPI (ML) Liberation, CPI (ML) New Democracy have decided to protest with empty pots across the district on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Guntur city on February 10.

Addressing a gathering here on Thursday, district CPI secretary Jangala Ajay Kumari and CPM district secretary Pasam Rama Rao said that Narendra Modi came to the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of AP capital four years ago with water and dust but later, cheated the people of the State.

They reminded that Modi assured Special Category Status to AP and cooperation for the construction of the state capital Amaravati, steel factory at Kadapa and separate railway zone for Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

They lashed out at him for failing to fulfill his election promises and said Modi had no moral right to visit the state. They warned that the voters would teach a lesson to the BJP led NDA government in the upcoming elections.

They said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has finally realised Modi's treachery and distanced himself from the BJP.

MCPI(U) leader Sivaiah was among those participated in the meeting.
