Tirupati: The 7th convocation of the Amara Raja Skill Development Centre (ARSDC) organised on Friday. The ARSDC awarded certificates to 85 students, including 62 boys and 23 girls at a ceremony held on the institute premises at Petamitta in Chittoor District.

About 748 students from batch-1 to batch-7, comprising of 560 boys and 188 girls have already been placed on regular rolls in various companies of the Amara Raja Group.

The current batch, comprising of meritorious youth from rural background, received certificates at the convocation ceremony, held in the presence of the founder and chairman of Amara Raja Group Dr Ramachandra N Galla, HR president (Group) Jaikrishna B, ARSDC dean M Viswanathan, Senior Management executives and staff of ARSDC.

The parents of students were also present on the occasion. Dr M Varaprasad, Chief Executive Officer of the Society for Employment Generation & Enterprise Development in Andhra Pradesh (SEEDAP) has delivered the convocation address.

He said that skill development programmes are a great source of inspiration for the youth, where they can learn and arm themselves with skills required for fields that demand expertise.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ramachandra N Galla said, “Skill development today is pre-requisite for a better livelihood. Our course focuses on overall personality development and also equip them with necessary life skills, which in turn, helps them to contribute meaningfully not just to their community, but to the country as a whole”.
