Vijayawada: “According to Hindu mythology, Soorya is God for prosperity and health.

Even medical science also says the sunrays are best medicine for some chronic diseases. Aruna Parayanam is considered Surya Namaskaram and also chanting Adithya Hridayam,” said Divine Programme organiser Pasumarthy Kameswara Sarma.

The divine programme is being organised every Sunday during Magha masam at Vijayeswaraswamy Temple atop Indrakeeadri for the last 36 years continuously with the blessings of His Holiness Chandrasekhara Saraswati Swamy of Kanchipuram.

While giving the month-long (4 Sundays) details of the programme, Kameswara Sarma said that elaborate arrangements have been made for the devotees during these four Sunday programmes.

The first Sunday of the Magha masam being ‘Sri Panchami’, the devotees can witness and participate in the ‘Saraswathi homam’ on February 10.

He said that on February 17, 24 and March 3, ‘Arunaparayana’ would be chanted at the same venue.

In addition to these four Sundays, the committee has also planned to perform special pooja for Suryanarayana Murthy on February 12 (Radha Saptami) and February 19 since it is an auspicious day ‘Magha Poornima’.

The committee urged the devotees to participate in the programmes and get benefitted for their health and prosperity.
