Vijayawada: “Everyone can dream to achieve their goals. But it can be done only with hard and selfless motive to help others,” said Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale, a famous cardio thoracic surgeon who has performed India's first heart transplant surgery.He was speaking at a programme jointly organised by AP Creative and Culture Commission, Cultural Centre of Vijayawada & Amaravati and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation at Tummalapalli Kshetrayya Kalakshetram here on Tuesday.
Dr Gokhale also said that people should come forward to donate organs to needy persons. On this occasion a message-oriented play “Guppedantha Gundelo….” was staged by Abhinaya Arts, Guntur which is based on a story written by Valmiki and dialogues penned by Sistla Chandrasekhar. This high emotional play was directed by N Ravendra Reddy. The director revealed that this was a real story which was inspired by the news item published regarding heart transplantation and in the way how it was made success by Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale.
Excellent team work by the artistes, apt background music by Leela Mohan, good lighting design had contributed for the successful performance of the drama. The director very effectively used the technique of visual effects for the scenes like lorry sinking in floods, heart operation, transferring the heart from one hospital to another hospital and clearing the traffic by police.
The performance of V Ch K Prasad, A Lakshmana Sastry, PV Mahesh, Bandi Ramakrishna, Mahendra, B Rama Krishna, M Rambabu, T Lakshmi, Sunayana and NSRA Prasad was appreciated by audience. Good technical support was rendered by Siva (sets), Giri (Make up), V Nagaraju (Visual effects) and Phani (lighting).The artistes were felicitated by Dr Gopala Krishna Gokhale, Gummadi Gopala Krishna, Dr Kolakaluri Enoch, Y Harischadra Prasad, E Siva Nagi Reddy and others.
