Visakhapatnam: Andhra University Registrar Prof K Niranjan on Tuesday said that knowledge is the priceless treasure in the world. Speaking at a Career Guidance programme organised by Sri Sanjeevini Medical and IIT Academy on varsity premises, Niranjan said that lack of self-confidence among students was on the rise, which is not a good sign. Stating that parents play vital role in students’ life, he advised them not to mount pressure on children.
Intermediate phase in students’ life is very crucial and they must try to get subject knowledge of their choice at this age with commitment to achieve their goals, he added. Former rector Prof PVGD Prasad Rao suggested the students to have fixed ambitions in their life and work hard to reach them with the help of their practical knowledge.
If the students want to have their mark in the corporate field, they should have knowledge and time management, he said. Though there are many job opportunities to students because of the globalisation, they are not getting proper jobs due to lack of speaking skills, discipline, patience and technical knowledge, he added. Failures should be the stepping stone of success, avoiding jealousy and using mobiles and computers only when needed, would make the lives happier, said the former rector.
Ch Praveen Kumar, Chairman, Sanjeevini Medical and IIT Academy, said that stress-free education is the motto of their organization. Ch Hanuma Reddy, Dean, SMIIT Academy, Prathista, P Srinivasa Rao, Shankar, Mukundara Rao and other faculty members participated in the programme.
