Tirupati: Intermediate examinations have begun on a peaceful note on Wednesday in the district. On the first day, out of 52,725 junior intermediate students registered, 51,115 were present with 1,610 abstained from writing the exams.

The RIO M Krishnaiah has said that, set–C question paper was selected by the Minister for HRD G Srinivasa Rao and no malpractice cases were booked. Along with RIO, District Education Committee members, high power committee members, District Vocational Officer and squad members have visited 52 centres out of the 133 spread across the district.

Students started reaching the examination centres from early in the morning itself as the officials directed them to reach by 8.30 am and they warned that nobody will be allowed inside the examination hall after 9 am even if they were late by one minute.

All the centres were equipped with CCTV cameras and elaborate arrangements were made at the centres. The second year exams will begin on Thursday for which 54,742 candidates have registered.
