Vijayawada: YSRCP senior leader and the chief of the party election manifesto committee Ummareddy Venkateswarlu on Tuesday made it clear that Amaravati will be the capital of Andhra Pradesh and there will not be any change on the party’s stand on the capital.

“Amaravati will be the capital and YSRCP will not change the capital if voted to power in the Assembly elections,” he said. Addressing the media at the state party office here after the first Assembly manifesto committee meeting, Venktaeswarlu said, “There are rumours that the YSRCP will change the capital after winning the elections, but it is not true”.

Referring to the party manifesto, he said the assurances made by the party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to the people during the Praja Sankalpa Yatra will be included in it.

Party leaders Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Kolusu Parthasarathi, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Velampalli Srinivas, Sk Amjad Basha, Mohammed Iqbal, M V S Nagi Reddy and others participated in the maiden meeting of manifesto committee at the state party office.

Ummareddy told the reporters that special emphasis will be given to education, agriculture, irrigation, health, self-help groups, farmers, SCs, STs, Backward Classes, minorities, industry and employment in the manifesto. Separate cells will be formed at state level to resolve the problems of various sections of the people, he added.

District-level meetings will be held on March 3 in all districts to formulate the manifesto and later manifesto committee will meet every day in Vijayawada to receive the suggestions from the people, he added.

“People can visit the state party office and give suggestions for preparation of manifesto,” he added. Besides, suggestions can also be sent to [email protected] for preparation of manifesto.

Venkateswarlu said the government educational institutions will be strengthened and special care will be taken to check the irregularities committed by private educational institutions.
