Visakhapatnam: Launching a blistering attack against the state government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday evening alleged that the state government was spreading canards against the Centre in an attempt to hide its corrupt activities.
Not just that efforts were on to unite all those who are under fear of their corruption getting exposed and are interested in promoting dynasties. Calling upon the people to give a second term, Modi said that was necessary because, "Unlike them, we do not have the fear of corruption cases or dynasties. That is why we are taking decisions without fear or any baggage in the best interest of the people."
Addressing a public rally, the Prime Minister alleged that the Opposition was playing into Pakistan's hands by making statements lowering the morale of the Indian armed forces. Modi said the Opposition's "anti-Modi" attitude has turned into "anti-India attitude."
"It is the misfortune of the country that at a time when the whole world is seeking answers from Pakistan, they (opposition parties) are making statements that undermine the morale of the security forces of the country. "Pakistan parliament is quoting these irresponsible statements to counter us. This is unfortunate.
Their penchant to oppose Modi has turned into anti-India attitude and they are deliberately aiding Pak narrative," Modi said. The Prime Minister's remarks come in the wake of 21 opposition parties unanimously accusing Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party of "blatant politicisation" of armed forces' sacrifices.
He announced approval of the South Coast Railway Zone which will be headquartered in Visakhapatnam and claimed that "It will create jobs, improve economy and develop the region. It reflects the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) commitment to developing Andhra Pradesh," he said.
Stating that the Centre was committed to fulfill all the promises made in the AP State Reorganisation Act, Modi said, “If the person who is running the affairs of the state who is known for taking ‘U’ Turns continued with NDA, things would have been different.” For BJP, he said, “Desh ka hith Sabse Upar.” But the chief minister here had joined hands with those who had never cared for the Telugu pride, he added.
