Guntur: All arrangements are in place for conducting special pujas to the presiding deity Amaralingeswara Swamy at Amaravati on the occasion of auspicious Maha Shivaratri festival on Monday.

Over 50,000 devotees are expected to visit the temple on the occasion. The Devasthanam authorities have set up special queue lines for the convenience of the devotees.

The Vedic scholars will perform special pujas and other religious rituals to the presiding deity from 4 am on Monday. The ‘Eka Dasa Rudrabhishekam’ and Laksha Bilwarchana will be performed. The temple was decorated with lighting. Pandals were set up for the convenience of the devotees.

After performing special pujas to the presiding deity Amaralingeswara Swamy, Kalyana Mahothsavam will be performed to Bala Chamundeswari Sametha Amaralingeswara Swamy at 2 am on March 5.

The temple executive officer, N Srinivasa Reddy reviewed arrangements for Maha Shivaratri. The police department made elaborate security arrangements to check any untoward incidents from taking place.

The temple authorities have already started Maha Shivaratri festivities from March 1 onwards which will continue till March 7 in the temple.
