Bathing ghats readied for Maha Shivaratri

Rajamahendravaram: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar on Sunday has said that necessary arrangements have been made at all the bathing ghats in the city in connection with Maha Shivaratri festival falling on Monday.

He inspected the arrangements at Pushkar Ghat and other ghats with the officials and said proper lighting, drinking water, dress changing rooms etc were provided at the ghats.

Sufficient number of sanitation workers was deployed at the ghats to clean the ghats.

Moreover, first aid centres were also arranged at the ghats as a precautionary measure and the officials of the corporation were directed to discharge duties with coordination.

As the devotees come to take a holy dip in River Godavari from the midnight of Sunday, lighting arrangements were made on a massive scale.

As usual, many non-governmental organizations and some individuals are making arrangements to distribute tamarind rice, curd rice, milk and water to thousands of devotees who come to the city.
