Work for successful conduct of polls, officials told

Eluru:District Collector Praveen Kumar has asked the officials to strive hard for the successful conduct of elections in the district.

He convened a review meeting on election arrangements with superintendents concerned here on Tuesday.

He called upon the officials to complete works in the stipulated time for smooth conduct of the polls. Stating that officials committed to duty are abundant in the district, the Collector said if everyone put in their collective efforts the district would get good name and fame for successfully holding the elections.

He asked them to give priority to time management and establish better communication with field-level staff with their phones, whatsapp and other facilities. The Collector requested the officials to bring to his notice any problems they confront in executing duties. Preparation of voter lists and readying polling stations are immediate challenges.

They should comprehend the Election Commission orders from time to time and implement the same without any flaws. All the officials should strictly follow election management plan. He asked them to verify whether all the polling stations are equipped with facilities, including ramps.

When observers pay a visit, the officials should submit necessary details to them. After completion of elections, they should ready buildings necessary to conduct counting.
