Audi RS6 Avant India launch on June 4

Audi’s recent model onslaught for the Indian market is all set to continue with the RS6 Avant, scheduled to launch on June 4. It follows the recent launches of the Audi TT facelift and the RS7 Sportback.

As the nomenclature signifies, the RS6 Avant is the high-performance version of the A6 Avant; the Avant stands for the estate body style. Speaking of performance, the RS6 Avant boasts tremendous power. The 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine makes a mammoth 552bhp and 71.4kgm of torque.

Mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, power is sent to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro AWD system. A sprint from 0-100kph is achieved in a claimed 3.9 seconds, while going on to hit a top speed of 304kph.

Cosmetically, the RS6 Avant has a sculpted face with sleek headlamps and daytime-running lights. The cabin has a sporty all-black theme to go with the performance orientation of the car.

The advantage of the estate body style is that there is loads of space and practicality to complement the power and performance. The Audi RS6 Avant will be brought in as CBUs, and will serve as a halo model in the carmaker’s India line-up.
