The newly launched Nano GenX is also a testament of incremental improvement Tata has been working on. The upcoming small car from the stable, the Glade, would be a totally different vehicle and if spy pictures are to be believed, it looks rather impressive.

MotorBeam reader Varun Vijay Bakshi, Harinder and Ricky recently spotted test mules of the Glade hatchback and shared the pics with us. The hatchback looks well designed and might turn out to be a surprise for most who believe it will resemble the old Tata cars. Although the body is heavily camouflaged, many elements can be seen and they look production ready.

Since the vehicle will be built to a cost, it will omit on some features offered by more expensive Tata cars. However, it is expected to get some good features from the Bolt like the chunky steering wheel (also added to the Nano GenX). The Tata Glade will not get the Harman infotainment unit found in the Zest and Bolt. Interior quality is supposed to be better than current Tata cars as the company is putting its heart and soul into this vehicle since it is very important for the brand.

Having learnt from its mistakes of the Nano launch, the Indian carmaker doesn’t want to repeat the mistakes it made then. If the Glade comes with decent features and an attractive price tag, it might add a decent figure to Tata’s sales tally, moving the brand up in the monthly sales charts.
