The much awaited and the most exciting AMG has finally hit Indian shores. The Mercedes AMG GT has been imported and the launch is expected to happen within a couple of months.
The new flagship sportscar from Affalterbach was revealed at the Paris Motor Show last year and Mercedes-Benz India is pretty quick to get it in our country. It’s not the regular AMG GT but they have imported the more powerful and sportier AMG GT S.
In terms of styling, the AMG GT looks bonkers with its extra long hood, stubby cabin and steeply raked rear profile that makes it a very exclusive car to look at. On the inside, the flagship performance machine carries the German automaker’s new design language.
It is driver centric having a meaty flat-bottom steering wheel. The centre console has gleaming buttons for different performance modes and the carbon fibre elements along with the double stitched seats just makes it an epic cabin to be in.
The regular Mercedes-AMG GT with a 4.0-litre Bi-turbo V8 engine produces 462 BHP at 6000 RPM while the AMG GT S produces 503 BHP of insane power at 6250 RPM. It does the 0-100 km/hr sprint in just 3.7 seconds and the top speed is limited at 310 km/hr.
The Porsche 911 rival is expected to be launched next month with a price tag of Rs. 2 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi). The vehicle comes via the CBU route and will be retailed through the company’s AMG Performance Centres. Expect limited availability of Mercedes’ flagship car.
