After launching the Figo Aspire sedan in the Indian market successfully, US auto major Ford is now all set to pull the wraps off its much-awaited new Figo hatchback in the country. The new Ford Figo hatch will be launched in India on 23 September.
The next gen Figo hatchback is expected to pack 1.2 litre petrol motor and 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engine under the hood, which can generate a power of 89bhp and a peak torque of 204Nm. The engines are likely to come paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The new Figo has an interior which is same as the Figo Aspire sedan that was launched last month. The difference lies in the colour scheme which is dual-tone in the sedan, whereas the hatch gets an all-black treatment.
The center console gets an aluminium finish along with the steering wheel, door pads and instrument cluster. The AC vent surround and the gear knob are finished in chrome.
The new Figo hatch is likely to be priced at Rs 4 lakh and is expected to include dual-tone interior with Ford's SYNC multimedia system, automatic climate control and electronic folding mirrors.
On the safety front, the 2015 Figo is expected to pack features like dual front air bags, 6 anti-lock braking systems (ABS) and electronic brake force distribution (EBD).
To be manufactured at the company's new Sanand plant in Gujarat, new Figo will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and Tata Bolt in India.
