Those buying a new two-wheeler or replacing the old ones with eco-friendly bikes can now benefit from special discounts being offered by E-bike manufacturers this festive season.
These discounts, ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 on eco-friendly bikes will be a benefit for E-bike buyers.
Some of the the players like Hero are even extending warranty to two years. Some others are throwing free gifts and bumper offers. Currently, the government is giving the subsidy between INR 7500 to 9400 depending upon the e-vehicle model.
According to Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV), industry's move is primarily aimed at encouraging people to migrate to eco-friendly and economical commuting solutions, especially city commuters who are at the receiving end of the alarming pollution level and high fuel cost.
"All our member manufacturers have decided to offer special festive season discount on their products to encourage faster adoption of green mobility which will in turn help curtail the dangerous level of pollution in our cities," said Sohinder Gill, Director Corporate Affairs, SMEV.
Gill also pointed out that these green bikes will also help reduce commuting budget as running cost of E-bikes were a fraction of gasoline bikes. "E-bikes are not only environment friendly but also substantially cheaper to own and run."
Some of the key members of the association include Hero electric, Mahindra, Avon, Electrotherm, Lohia, Ampere etc. (ANI)
