Mercedes-Benz India will launch the facelifted version of their luxury hatch, the A-Class, on December 8. The Mercedes A-Class had been updated globally earlier this year and the Indian car that was launched back in May 2013 will now be at par with the global car.

The 2016 update for the A-Class will get minor styling changes to the exterior with redesigned LED headlamps, new tail lamp cluster design and subtle changes to the front bumper. The interiors will also get its set of tweaks to align it with the CLA-Class with galvanised switches and changes to the instrument cluster. The A-Class may get more colour options than the current red, white and silver hues and will include the shade of green shown in the picture above.

The Mercedes A-Class is offered in two trims – the A180 petrol and the A200 diesel, in India, starting at Rs 27.45lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The update is largely cosmetic with no changes expected to the recently updated 2143cc 134bhp diesel mill. The 121bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine may get tweaked to deliver more power as well as a better fuel economy.

The Mercedes A-Class competes with the BMW 1 Series, the Volvo V40 hatchback and the Mini Cooper D and is expected to be priced at about Rs 28 lakh in India.
