Delhi: New generation Nissan X-Trail is to be launched in India later this year.
The third generation Nissan X-Trail SUV was first showcased at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. More than two years later, the car has arrived in India, not only as a showpiece for the Auto Expo, for a launch as well.
New Nissan X-Trail has exterior inspired by Nissan’s new design language. Engine option includes a 2.0-liter petrol engine capable of 143 bhp power. It also gets a more powerful 2.5-liter petrol engine producing 170 bhp power. For India, expect the 1.6-liter diesel engine offering 130 bhp power to be on offer.
Based on Common Module Family (CMF) platform, developed jointly by Nissan and Renault, Nissan X-Trail measures 4,641 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 1,709 mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase measuring 2,705 mm and is offered in 5 and 7 seater variants.
Safety features on offer include Electrically Adjustable Seating, Active Engine Brake, Active Traction Control and Active Ride Control. Other safety features also include LED projector headlamps, DRLs and Cruise Control along with Climate Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Assist and a total of 4 airbags. Infotainment will be in the form of a 7” Nissan Connect Infotainment System.
Nissan X-Trail will meet with a long list of competitors when officially launched in India. These will include the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Toyota Fortuner and new Ford Endeavour. The Nissan X-Trail will be brought in as a Completely Built-Up.
