Auto Expo 2016 New Triumph Bonneville series features

The new Triumph Bonneville series comprising Street Twin, T120 and Thruxton R have been launched in India at the ongoing 2016 Auto Expo. The next gen models offer huge improvements compared to the previous iterations but they continue to retain the nameplate’s classic appeal.

Triumph Bonneville Street Twin

At INR 6.9 lakhs (ex-showroom), the StreetTwin is the most affordable variant of the new Bonneville. It is powered by an all-new 900 cc twin-cylinder liquid cooled engine which is good for 80 Nm of torque (18% more than its predecessor). The motorcycle comes with standard ABS, ride-by-wire, slip-assist clutch and traction control. Deliveries in India will commence from March 2016.

Triumph Bonneville T120

Replacing the T100, the new T120 retains the DNA but gets a bigger and improved powertrain. The 1,200 cc liquid-cooled twin cylinder engine produces 105 Nm of torque which is a good 54% more than what the T100 had in store. Like the Street Twin, the T120 offers ABS, TC, ride-by-wire and slip-assist clutch in addition to Rain and Road riding modes. The T120 is priced at INR 8.7 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will be available from April 2016.

Triumph Bonneville Thruxton R

The top-of-the-line Thruxton R adopts a striking cafe racer body style with aerodynamic headlamp fairing. The motorcycle is powered by a more potent version of the T120’s 1,200 cc mill. At 112 Nm, the torque output is 62% higher than its predecessor. The equipment level is same as T120 but the Thruxton R gets an additional Sport riding mode. Prices for the new Thruxton R will be announced soon and the deliveries are set to commence from July 2016.
