Delhi: This special variant of Tata Zica is created under the new Tata Personalization program.
Tata Zica has made its first public appearance at the ongoing 2016 Auto Expo. Seen in a cool new shade of Aqua Blue, this is a specially crafted variant, to let visitors at the show know about the interesting customization packages offered by Tata Motors.
Speaking about the Tata Zica Aqua Blue, it gets sport front bumper with a silver lip at the bottom, the grille, as well as the lower bumper, are finished in matte black, which is also seen on the sides and rear of the car. This gives the small Zica a much beefed up stance.
It also gets a black piano finish on the roof with silver roof rails, ORVM with turn indicators are finished in piano black, new alloys, decals on the bonnet and side. The rear also gets a floating roof spoiler. On the inside, this special Zica gets new premium seats with black leather seat covers.
First unveiled back in Dec 2015, Tata Zica is yet to be launched in India. Expect the launch to take place later this month. Also, Tata Motors has announced that once launched, Zica will be known by a different name as it sounds similar to the Zika virus.
The Tata Zica will receive a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol three-cylinder engine and a 1.05 Revotorq 3 cylinder diesel engine. Petrol engine delivers 85 PS power at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm torque at 3,500 rpm while diesel engine delivers 70 PS power at 4,000rpm and peak torque of 140 Nm torque. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
In terms of features, the new Tata Zica will sport power windows, power adjustable ORVMs and a rear defogger. In terms of infotainment, it gets a 2 DIN audio system, Bluetooth, AUX-In and USB connectivity along with steering mounted controls and telephone controls. Navigation app and Juke app are also present on the new Tata Zica with segment best audio system that includes 4 speakers and 4 tweeters.
Tata Zica hatchback is seen as a rival to the Chevrolet Beat, Hyundai i10 and Maruti Suzuki Celerio and could come in a price range from INR 4-6 lakhs.
