Datsun Redi-Go has been spied on test once again before launch in May 2016.Datsun Redi-Go hatchback on test in Chennai is the third car from Nissan’s low-cost Datsun brand, following the Go and Go+MPV. To launch in India in the coming months, it will enter a segment currently dominated by new Mahindra KUV100.

Like the Go, Go+ and Kwid, the new Datsun Redi-Go is based on a CMF-A platform. This is a new gen light-weight platform which provides best in class structural stability and rigidity.

Speaking of the engine, Datsun Redi-Go could receive the same engine seen on its Go and Go+. This will be in the form of a 1.2 liter three cylinder petrol engine offering 67 bhp power and 104 Nm torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The model could also get an Automated Manual Transmission variant.

Datsun Redi-Go gets flared wheel arches, a roofline that slopes at both ends. To be classed as a pseudo hatchback, with SUVish looks, Datsun Redi-Go could share interiors with the Renault Kwid. Expect body panels, instrument controls, seats, etc to be of similar quality. However, the new Redi-Go will have a taller stance and will be dominated by a hexagonal grille, sleep swept back headlights and new bumper, inspired from the concept showcased back in 2014.

Where pricing of the Redi-Go is concerned pricing could be in the range of around INR 4-6 lakh on road.
