Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard with VR10 protection level unveiled

Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard is the first ever car for civilian use to feature VR10 protection level.The epitome of luxury and safety, the new Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard has been officially revealed. Designed to offer the highest level of protection, Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard comes with protection level VR10, the highest ballistic protection grade on offer any vehicle in the world today (for civilian use).

Priced from €470,000 (INR 3.56 crore) plus VAT in Germany, it has been officially certified by the Ballistics Authority in Ulm. The bullet-proof window glass is so heavy, that it needs a special hydraulic setup for functioning. Same goes for the doors, bonnet and the boot lid.

Like the other Guard cars in their line-up, Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard is also hand-built at their secret manufacturing facility in Germany. Speaking about their new car, Mercedes claims that – “Heads of state and business leaders en route have never been as comfortable and simultaneously as well protected as they are in the new Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard.”

Manufactured to withstand grenade attacks, steel hardened bullets from an assault rifle, and so on, the car is also equipped with some cutting edge tech which we have seen in some of the Bond movies, like tyres that can continue to perform even when fully deflated, etc. Most of the tech has been kept under the wraps by Mercedes-Maybach, so as to ensure the safety of its passengers.
