The color and other visual elements are carefully chosen to match the post World War era Royal Enfield motorcycles. Rudratej Singh, President, Royal Enfield, said that the bike is tribute to RE’s wartime presence and its longstanding association with the Indian armed forces.

Royal Enfield’s relationship with armed forces began during the World Wars. The Indian chapter commenced when the Army ordered the first batch of 800 RE motorcycles back in 1952. Production in Chennai started in 1955 and the rest is history.

The Classic 500 is powered by a 27.2 bhp 499 cc engine.Save for the new color, the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Squadron Blue continues to soldier on without any changes whatsoever. The retro classic motorcycle’s 499 cc air-cooled fuel-injected unit construction engine which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox to develop 27.2 bhp and 41.3 Nm of torque.

Royal Enfield is just a few days away from launching the eagerly awaited Himalayan adventure tourer which is touted to be an important volume puller.
