Taking the baton from the Veyron which pushed the limits of automotive engineering to a whole new level, the Chiron is even more advanced, faster and quicker. Let’s cut to the chase. The Chiron is powered by the same magnificent 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 petrol engine which generates 1,500 PS (1,103 kW / 1,479 bhp) at 6,700 rpm and 1,181 lb-ft (1,600 Nm) of torque between 2,000 – 6,000 rpm. The unearthly potential of the powertrain is transferred to all the four-wheels via a new 7-speed DCT.

The new Bugatti can do 0-100 kmph in a scarcely believable duration! To be exact, it does 0-100 kmph in under 2.5 seconds, 0-200 kmph in less than 6.5 seconds and 0-300 kmph in less than 13.6 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 261 mph (420 kph), which makes it 3 mph faster than the Veyron. But, it is enough to set to carry forward the crown for the world’s fastest production car from its predecessor.

Coming to styling, the Chiron derives its cues from the Vision GT 2025 concept which was showcased at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The front grille and profile have a strong resemblance to those of the Veyron but the finer details are more aggressive. The interior is a perfect blend of luxury and sportiness. As one would expect from a car of this calibre, craftsmanship, material quality is exceptional.

The sensational Bugatti Chiron, like the Veyron, will be hand-built and will have a limited production run to maintain exclusivity. Only 500 units will be manufactured over a period of 5 years. Bugatti says they already have received 150 confirmed orders. Starting price of Chiron is $2.6 million.
