The facelifted Honda Amaze has made its way to the Indian market on Thursday. Priced between Rs. 5.29 lakh to Rs. 8.19 lakh (Ex-showroom, New Delhi), this is the first refreshment for the compact sedan since its debut in 2013.

The 2016 Amaze now gets a handful of cosmetic upgrades inside-out though mechanics of the car remains unaltered. It continues to source its power from the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines.

While the petrol Amaze is good for 87bhp and 109Nm, the diesel mill puts out a good 99bhp and 200Nm. Transmission options are also identical to the earlier model a 5-Speed manual and a CVT automatic.

The automatic petrol variant features a fuel economy stat of 18.1kmpl (ARAI) and diesel mill returns 25.8kmpl (ARAI). What's worth taking a note is that the CVT petrol variant is more economical than the manual transmission models, which return a fuel economy of 17.8kmpl (ARAI).

In terms of exterior updates, the Amaze has received new bumpers, updated radiator grille and reworked taillights. Save for these changes, the Amaze looks more or less similar to the earlier model. On the inside, however, some significant changes have taken place and it looks way upmarket now.

A new dual-theme dashboard, touchscreen audio video navigation system (AVN), automatic climate control, new instrument panel and AC vents are some of the major updates Honda has given in the 2016 Amaze.
