Made in India Ford EcoSport specifications at Geneva Motor Show 2016

Made in India, new Ford EcoSport (European spec) is on display at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

2016 Ford EcoSport has been already launched in major markets across the globe. In India, the new EcoSport with updated design was launched last year. Ford claims that the new EcoSport offers better drive dynamics thanks to improvements made to the chassis, suspension, and rear axle.

New Ford EcoSport is offered with partial leather seats as standard fitment in Titanium variants. On the inside is a charcoal black finished lower instrument panel, centre console, and door boards. A colour display, Sony infotainment system, backlight dimming option for instruments, and chrome tabs for power window switches are seen.

The handbrake lever is repositioned for better access. Privacy glass and spare wheel is offered as options. A tyre mobility kit in place of the spare wheel is offered as standard fitment. (India-spec versions continue to get the spare tyre mounted on the rear tailgate).

New Ford EcoSport runs on enhanced springs, spring aids, dampers, rear axle twist beam and steering gear. Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) settings and steering assist is improved for better handling and control. NVH levels, and lower gear ratios are optimised in both EcoBoost and TDCi diesel models to tweak low-end torque. Powertrain variants are tweaked to comply with EU6.1 emission standard. TDCi diesel engine gets added power. It also gets the Winter Pack includes heated windscreen, heated mirrors, heated seats and rear seat ducts at floor level.
