Suzuki Hayabusa, also known as the GSX1300R or Busa, was first launched back in 1999. And even today, over 16 years later, it is considered as one of the fiercest and meanest superbike on offer. There aren’t many bikes in the superbike segment which have managed to keep their stead unchallenged for this long.

Sold as a CBU currently in India, Suzuki Hayabusa will soon be assembled at Suzuki Motorcycles manufacturing plant in Manesar. This will result in Suzuki Hayabusa being sold as CKD in India, thus making it the first real superbike to be assembled in India.

Due to lower taxes on CKD units, the biggest benefit will be a price drop. Suzuki Hayabusa, which currently retails at INR 16 lakh, will get a sizeable reduction in price of about INR 2 lakh. This means the CKD Hayabusa will be priced from INR 14 lakh. This is a mouth watering price tag for buyers in this segment as the price of rival ZX-14R starts from INR 18 lakh.

Currently in its second generation, Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by a four stroke 1,340 cc inline 4 cylinder liquid cooled engine which delivers max power of 197 hp at 10,100 rpm and a peak torque of 138.7 Nm at 7,600 rpm. Having a dry weight of 222 kg, it sprints from 0-100 kmph in just 2.74 seconds and has a top speed of 299 kmph.
