The Dawn is claimed to be the quietest and the most rigid convertible in the world. The Rolls Royce Dawn convertible made its Thai premiere at 2016 Bangkok Motor Show which opened for public on 23rd March. The top-less luxury car made its world premiere at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show and is expected to be launched in India later this year.

The Dawn is based on the Wraith Coupe but the company says that 80% of the body panels are new. Only the doors and radiator grille surround have been carried over. A lot of effort is claimed to have gone into making the Dawn’s cabin as quiet as other Rollers despite the lack of hard roof.

The Dawn is powered by a 563 PS 6.6-litre V12 twin-turbo petrol engine.
The Dawn is billed as the quietest convertible car in the world. The soft roof can be retracted in a matter of 21 seconds within speeds of up to 30 mph (48 kmph).

The long hood houses the 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 petrol engine that also serves the Wraith. The motor produces 563 PS and 780 Nm of torque. The 8-speed ZF transmission is linked to the sat-nav system to anticipate the next move and preselect a gear accordingly.

Rolls Royce has worked extensively to ensure that the noise levels within the cabin are comparable to its hard top models.
The Rolls Royce Dawn can accelerate from rest to one in 4.9 seconds en route to its electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.
