Maruti Vitara Brezza pips Ford EcoSport sales within a month after launch

Maruti Vitara Brezza sales for the month of March 2016 stands at 5,563 units.Launched on the 8th of March 2016, new Maruti Vitara Brezza compact SUV has recorded more sales than top rival Ford EcoSport. In numbers, Brezza recorded sales of 5,563 units, and the EcoSport recorded sales of 4,456 units. Thereby beating its arch rival by a good 1,107 units in the first month since launch.

Unlike Ford EcoSport, which is available in petrol and diesel engine options with manual / automatic gearbox, Vitara Brezza is only available with one diesel engine option with 5 speed MT.

One of the most important car launches this year, Maruti Vitara Brezza bookings have already crossed the 40,000 mark. With waiting period touching the six-month mark in certain cities, Maruti Suzuki is expected to deliver much more units of Vitara Brezza in the coming months. The company has already increased production capacity from existing 80,000 units to 1 lakh units a year.

Speaking about Ford EcoSport, it was not a bad month. Instead, EcoSport posted its highest monthly sales in 16 months for March 2016. The reason behind increase in sales of EcoSport is the huge price cut which was announced by Ford India a few days after the launch of Maruti Vitara Brezza.
